"what the fuck, texas?" #8

(I have a backlog of these things)

The High Five. A monument to excessive architecture in bridge form. This is only one fourth of the craziness.  Posted by Picasa

Holy Shit! It's got its own webpage! Be sure to watch the video.

I was fascinated to learn that "High Five" stands for the five (5) levels of bridges involved. Also that three creeks run underneath the damn thing, which you wouldn't know because they put walls up preventing you from viewing them. Kindly enough, however, they have provided you with art deco representations of the creeks on those very same walls.

Wow! TxDOT rocks!

what the fuck, texas? #7

"Try it. Please? Well, if you don't like it, I mean, that's really okay. We don't mind. No, really. We didn't expect you to actually put 8 people in your Suburban. By the way, don't go outside or breathe. You might die. Just a friendly reminder." Posted by Picasa

all these silly things

1. My key ring was stolen yesterday at the yard sale I ran to benefit the cat shelter. The keys aren't such a big deal, but the clicker to my apt complex gate is. $50 to replace.

2. I was offered a shitload of money in loans and grants offered to me by UNT. I am officially going to grad school.
2a. I can't log into My UNT to accept said loans and grants because the website is being ridicuntulous.

3. I get the keys to my house soon...maybe Friday.
3a. I have to start doing yardwork and buy a fridge...maybe Saturday.

4. My kittens are adorable.

5. Megan was here for a whirlwind visit on Wednesday. It was a blast. We went to the sculpture center and ate cake and the The Women's Museum. Much fun was had.

6. Wisconsin is gorgeous.

7. Madison just got even cooler.

Successful, awesome, all around great trip to Wisconsin. I am sadly back in Texas, although not sad about having a kitty asleep on my lap.

We have lots of Wisconsin beer in storage.

I am rapidly approaching broke as I need to go to NY in a month, tailor a bridesmaid dress, eat, and start thinking about my new house, which I will have the keys to in a week. It needs landscaping in the backyard, ceiling fans, blinds, a refridgerator...argh! But oh well. I am quite looking forward to it.

Not much to see here.

Also- 10 days to my Birthday!

And I used to think 24 was so very old.
